 Shayamoya is an ideal venue to host a romantic, tranquil, bush wedding.
Our facilities in the central lodge accommodates up to 80 people.
The ceremony is held on the large wooden deck of the central lodge where the view is a stunning back drop of the Lebombo Mountains, Lake Jozini and the Pongola Game Reserve.
The reception is held in the restaurant area of the central lodge so the occasion is consolidated to one stunning area of stone, wood and thatch.
It is our lodge policy that the lodge is hired exclusively for 2 nights (and in the case of weekends, the Friday and Saturday nights) for a wedding function.
2010 Rate : - R33 000
- The above rate includes accommodation for 20 people (10 chalets) for 2 nights, dinner on the first night and breakfast for both mornings.

- We send a list of options to the bride, from where she can make her menu suggestion, which is very difficult as it all sounds wonderful and is professionally prepared and arranged.
| Table Arrangements and Decor : - The décor is normally very tailor made to each wedding and depends on the bride’s style. We are happy to quote for drapery, fairylights, candleabra etc. and any specific extras.
- Alternatively, the ‘bush style’ weddings would take on the lodge style which is lots of tea-light candles, golden organza table runners with deep yellow or rusty colored table cloths and napkins. This is dependent on the number of guests at the reception.
Accommodation : - 2 Premium or Honeymoon Chalets sleeping 2 people
- 8 Standard Chalets each sleeping 2 people
- Lunch on request @ R65 p/p
Tamboti Ridge Bed & Breakfast : - There is also our Bed and Breakfast venue, Tamboti Ridge Cottage, only 3 km away which has 5 rooms and the rates are R350 p/p/p/n sharing Bed & Breakfast
- Dinner for the first night, by prior arrangement at the lodge, @ R140 p/p
Additional accommodation : - We can assist you with providing the telephone numbers for the surrounding lodges. Bookings are done directly with them as payments then get confusing!

Activities : - Please let us know in advance if you think guests will be doing activities and what they would prefer to do so that we are fully prepared. These range from tiger fishing, game drives, boat cruises, elephanting and rhino tracking. I have attached the activities information.
The Dates : - Choose dates that co-incide with full moon as this makes a spectacular show as it rises up over the mountains and gives the lake a silvery glimmer.
Bar : - Shayamoya operates on a tab system. The drinks on the wedding night is usually billed to the groom unless another arrangement is agreed upon.
- You may supply your own wine for the wedding evening only and the corkage fee is R20 per bottle.
Cake : - The price would depend on the style of cake and is ordered from cake specialists.

Flowers :
Our standard arrangements suiting the bush is a big arrangement on the buffet counter and one at the bar. We suggest brides to consider arrangements for table arrangements – the price will depend on what flowers and style arrangements are requested.

Music : - To be arranged by the bridal party or we have a good music system in the lodge with a small selection of CDs.
- Should you wish to have dancing, please cut some CDs in advance.

Photographer : - David Weeks has done many of the weddings and thus the lodge is familiar territory to him.
- He comes up from Durban and you can view his excellent work at www.davidweeks.co.za.
- He charges R12 000 for 14 hours of his time, studio lights, all the film (backed up by a digital camera) and a leather bound album.
Priest : - Our local Minister, Pastor Schalk, does most of our weddings.

You can see there are many areas where the bridal party can get involved. Firstly this makes it more fun for the families to be involved in this special occasion, and secondly you as a bride, have the ideas of the theme/style in which you want to be married. A 10% handling fee is charged for lodge management to co-ordinate the extras requested. Payment : - 50% Deposit on confirmation of accommodation and the reception, either by bank transfer or credit card authorisation.
- Full payment 14 days prior to arrival at the Lodge.
- All major credit cards accepted.
Cancellation Policy : - Cancellations must be in writing.
- 50% if cancelled within 45 days prior to arrival.
- 100% if cancelled within 30 days prior to arrival.
