“A great place to stay. Highly recommended”

Stayed 3 nights There are a lot of very nice Hotels and Lodges in South Africa but occasionally you come across a real gem Shayamoya Lodge is one of those The Chalet was perfect for our needs, clean and comfortable and waking up to that incredible view every morning was special The food in the restaurant was beyond expectations. Breakfast had good choices and was delicious and the evening menu was well presented and really tasty.

Recommend the home made soups and the oxtail casserole. The Lodge does offer spa facilities and we did take advantage of the foot treatments. Good value for money. Laundry services excellent and again really good value for money. Excursions on offer were appealing including the fishing and walking with Rhinos but these would be dependant on weather so manage expectations before you arrive as to what is feasible . But all that is not the main reason this place is special What made us so very comfortable with our stay here was the incredible commitment of the owners and the staff to making us so very welcome.

This family owned Lodge is well run, well maintained, and obviously well loved. The care and attention we received when we stayed here was amazing. Nothing was too much trouble and every consideration was given to what we would like to see and do during our stay. The staff here are a real asset to the lodge with many of them having been with the family for years they demonstrated a sincere commitment to excellent friendly customer service. Bev was outstanding, with excellent local knowledge and a real talent for making people feel comfortable, she was always available and ensured we never wanted for anything. Everyone involved with Shayamoya is very proud of their lodge and it shows. Will definitely come back here.

Hi Lindy I hope you are fine!

I just talked with the couple that was there last month and they literally LOVED Shayamoya, Boma and boat ride among crocs. I am pretty sure we will keep on suggesting your place in the future.

Have a good weekend

Chasing the Golden Pipit at Pongola
Good day everyone, My wife and I have just returned from our first long distance Mega tick bird chase and found it most enjoyable. We decided to make a weekend outing out of it, and stayed over at the Shayamoya Game Lodge nearby Pongola Nature reserve, that was recommended by Trevor Hardaker last week.

What a fantastic female friend I met!
I had a fantastic stay at your lodge on 21/22 July 2010.  I also received a surprise visit from a beautiful “bird”.   The resident owl, Nandi was resting on the porch outside my room from about 06:00, and when I opened my door she flew in and perched above the door leading to the bathroom.
